A full year since the Semi-Final tie in the FA Cup at Wembley between Liverpool and Manchester City where the Reds dominated in a 3-2 win. Quadruple hopes were alive and fans were extremely happy with performances.
However, Klopp has already stated that he is not ready to give up and that the team will be recruiting a brand new midfield for the next season.
It was confirmed this week that the Reds had discontinued there pursuit of young English midfielder Jude Bellingham as his price tag would be too much for them as they look to build a full midfield rather than one player.
A year prior to this heartbreaking season, the Reds were on target to complete a quadruple, they sat 2nd in the Premier League level on point with Man City, they had just beaten Man City to make it to the Fa Cup final, they had won the League Cup and they were in the Semi-Finals of the Champions League.
We all know what happened next, the Reds went on to win the FA Cup and missed out by a fraction on winning the league and UCL in Paris.
A lot has changed in a year for Liverpool, maybe a full recovery from last season was never properly achieved, key players being injured throughout the season and poor performances against bottom half of the table teams have led to a poor league position.
A summer rebuild and a proper recovery would give Klopp’s men a better chance and a fresh start for the 2023/24 season.
Contrasting to this, if a European spot is not secured, Liverpool may face an unattractive look for any new arrivals and players may not want to join the club based on the current position.
